NEW YORK, Feb 7, 2024 – CFRA, the world’s leading provider of independent investment research, has appointed Alan Elworthy as the firm’s Global Head of Sales.
Mr. Elworthy’s career has spanned sales leadership at research, financial, and market intelligence services firms serving clients across technology, finance, and consumer industries. He will oversee CFRA’s global sales and account management teams, playing a key role in the continued expansion and refinement of CFRA’s growth and client service efforts.
Mr. Elworthy was most recently the Head of Sales, Technology, Media, and Telecommunications (TMT) at S&P Global Market Intelligence. He joined S&P as part of its acquisition of 451 Research, where he built the firm’s worldwide sales organization. At S&P, Mr. Elworthy led the global TMT sales team to exceed both revenue and sales targets every year during his tenure. At the same time, he led the integration of 451 Research into S&P’s operations.
Prior, Mr. Elworthy was Chief Revenue Officer at 451 Research, a research advisory firm providing subscription, consulting, and events services. He built the sales function into a world-class sales organization that achieved double digit revenue growth every year for over a decade. He created multiple new business lines and revenue streams by co-leading the acquisition of five companies with complementary specialties including survey research and data firm Yankee Group.
“Alan’s distinguished track record of building world-class sales organizations while consistently exceeding revenue targets makes him the ideal transformational leader to spearhead CFRA’s continued sales growth,” said Theresa Torian, President & COO of CFRA. “Equally as impressive is Alan’s commitment to building a strong culture driven by continuous learning and a hyper-focus on the needs of our clients.”
“I couldn’t be more excited to join the amazing team at CFRA,” said Elworthy. “Along with their industry leading independent research across multiple disciplines, CFRA is also on the cutting edge of technology and integration. Producing high quality research is obviously a critical starting point, but being able to deliver that research directly into client technology environments and workflows in a flexible manner is where CFRA truly stands apart. That combination is a game changer for clients.”
