Energy: Gulf Coast Natural Gas May Induce Heartburn

Stewart Glickman, CFA, Director of Equity Research

Summary

The outlook for natural gas pricing is pessimistic in the near term, especially for key producers with high exposure to the Haynesville Shale. While the Haynesville Shale, located in East Texas and Northern Louisiana, is well-positioned for rising liquefied natural gas (LNG) demand due to its proximity to Gulf Coast export markets, its deeply buried gas reserves require more time and investment for drilling and completion. Long-term growth prospects remain promising despite these challenges.
